Gators Win! Gators Win Todd Potts IM Carnival

After two thunder delays the 2014 Todd Potts IM Carnival wrapped up and it was worth the wait. In spite of stiff competition, the Forest Hollow Gators took home the championship trophy.

Update: 7/3/14

Because of last night’s weather we were unable to finish the event. Thank you for coming and for enduring our first weather delay. We know what this event means to the swimmers, but safety comes first.

We will attempt to finish the meet tonight, Thursday, July 3. We have approval from our pool to close at 7:00pm.  You will see from the timeline below that we are overlapping a little with that process, so please be courteous to our members when arriving.

Timeline

6:45pm – Officials and swimmers arrive at Forest Hollow
7:00pm  – Swimmers warm up
7:15pm  – Warm up ends and meet begins

We will begin with the 15-18 Boys, Event 7, Heat 6.

Odd and Ends

Please bring your meet sheets. We will not have any additional meet sheets on hand.

There will not be any deck entries accepted, only scratches.

The Gator Grill will not be open.  We have a soda machine with water, soda and Gatorade for purchase but feel free to bring your own food and drink.

This meet is at Forest Hollow and includes 54 Gator swimmers. If you have not already, please take a moment to sign up to Volunteer.

4:30 – Forest Hollow Lanes 1-4, Sleepy Hollow Rec  5-6
4:50 – Holmes Run Lanes 1-3, Woodley Lanes 4-6
5:10 – Sleepy Hollow Bath and Racquet  Lanes 1-3, Broyhill Crest Lanes 4-6
5:30 – Dowden Terrace Lanes 1-3, Arlington Forest Lanes 4-6
5:50 – Warm up over
6:00 – Meet begins
(We plan to have a second warm up after 11/12′s with one lane per team for 10 mins if the weather and timing allows.)

There is no admission charge for spectators. Programs will be available for $1.00.

Concessions

A variety of food and drinks will be available for purchase before and during the meet. The Gator Grill will be fired up and serving dinner, snacks, snow cones and drinks throughout the meet.

Merchandise

Custom T-Shirts will be available.

Scoring

Points are awarded for 1st through 12th place. First place is worth 32 points, second 26, then 24, 22, 20, 18, 14, 10, 8, 6, 4, and 2 for 12th place.

Awards

Place Ribbons will be awarded for first through twelfth places and Competitor Ribbons for other positions.  Team awards will be presented to the highest scoring team and the runner-up.

Supervision

Coaches and Team Reps are responsible for the conduct of their swimmers and for cleaning up their assigned team areas during and after the meet. We encourage swimmers to bring chairs for their team area.

Parking

We will have attendants in bright orange vests in the parking lot at the beginning of the meet directing traffic and assisting with packing the parking lot.  In addition, there will be a kiss and swim area set up for you to drop your swimmer off before parking.

PLEASE ENCOURAGE YOUR FAMILIES TO CARPOOL.  Once the lot is full, parents may drop swimmers off at the bathhouse.

*Please be careful crossing Old Columbia Road, do not let your children cross it alone.
