I suggest carpooling to the extent possible.   Parking is in the lot or on the street. If you click here>>> https://www.foresthollow.com/2013-schedule/   you will go to our Meet Schedule Page…. if you click on the name of the pool it will take you to get directions on your own.

CARAVAN – highly recommended but optional. We will caravan from Forest Hollow on Saturday morning. We will meet beginning at 7:15am. The caravan will leave at 7:30am sharp. If you are not joining caravan, please let teamrepfhsc@gmail.com know so there is no panic about meet attendance.

GATOR TEAM SPIRIT
If you have your Gator car flag…make sure you put it in your window. All swimmers should be in team colors, wear team t-shirts and be ready to swim fast, show good sportsmanship and cheer their team mates on. Parents and spectators, please consider showing your Gator Spirit by also wearing team colors and doing lots of cheering for all the swimmers during the races. ALL Swimmers are required to wear their team cap. Let’s all SHOW OUR GATOR TEAM SPIRIT!!!

ENTRY TO POOL
The Gators will meet in the parking lot and enter the pool together. Our team will enter the pool through the gate from the parking lot.

GATOR TEAM AREA
The visiting  team area will be to the left as we enter the pool. It backs up to woods (so it gets some shade in the early, early a.m.) and is on the pool deck (no grass). We will have four tables with umbrellas and they can add more if necessary. There is enough room in the team area to set up 3 or more tents. They suggest we bring 3 tents for your team. A volunteer or two to bring the tents would be great!

They will provide plenty of low deck chairs and lounge chairs, so our swimmers don’t have to bring their own chairs. If the weather calls for it to be hot, they will have misters/sprinklers going to try to keep our swimmers cool in the visiting team area, as well as, Clerk of Course

Parents, PLEASE encourage your swimmers to return to team area after their events. Send water and snacks with your swimmers to the team area at the beginning of the meet to minimize swimmers leaving team area. Our B Meet Rep Bob Elkins is in the team area with the swimmers…. If you need anything or your swimmer, please approach him.

Parent/Spectator Seating

They also provide seating for our fans and families outside our team area with some umbrella coverage. The best spot for some of our older spectators is along the fence in front of the Shark Shack. It stays shaded for most of the meet. Please bring sunscreen, hats and money.

CONCESSIONS
The Fair Oaks Shark Shack that will be selling egg-sausage-cheese sandwiches on English Muffins, as well as, egg-cheese sandwiches and doughnuts, bagels, candy and coffee, hot chocolate, water and soft drinks. Grilled hamburgers, hotdogs and chicken will be available around 10:30am. They also run a 50/50 Raffle where one lucky winner from either team will receive half of all the proceeds collected.

Giving Back/Community Service

As a team, they are participating in the WFCM “Fill Our Tanks” food drive this Saturday to help stock their pantries that feed 732 families (962 children) in Fairfax County who can’t afford food and since it is summer, they cannot participate in the county school’s free/reduced breakfast and lunch programs. Summer is when the pantries get very low on supply. They will have a car with its trunk opened (a “Fill Our Trunks” sign will be attached) to receive donations and parked between the handicap parking spaces and your team’s designated parking spaces near the swimmer’s entrance to the pool. Let’s please participate and bring canned vegetables, canned fruit or canned beans to help out!

GATOR TEAM SPIRIT SPORTSMANSHIP –
Parents, remind your swimmers to wear team colors, attire, shake hands following each race, to be humble winners, and gracious losers. Be respectful to volunteers and officials. Sportsmanship is the key to Gator success!!

Parents, wear team colors, cheer our swimmers and theirs… be gracious to our host team, volunteers and officials.

WHAT NEXT??? LET’S CELEBRATE!!
Forest Hollow Gators will go to for lunch and a celebration. Location to be determined and will be announced during the meet
