Membership Structure Change for 2019

Members of Forest Hollow were sent the following letter in the Fall of 2018.

Dear Member,

This fall, the board of directors moved forward with a plan to modernize and streamline the club membership structure. Based on membership trends and demand, we’re excited to announce these changes to make membership more flexible and equitable for everyone who calls Forest Hollow home during the summer.

Until now, membership has been divided between holders of membership certificates (commonly referred to as ‘shares’) and other members. This practice no longer serves the best interests of the members and has become a barrier to promoting to new families and providing ongoing service to current families.

Beginning with the upcoming 2019 season, Forest Hollow Swim Club will no longer have shareholder and non-shareholder (or “summer”) membership levels and will not charge members inactive dues during seasons they don’t use the pool.

Members who were considered “shareholders” in good standing in 2018 will continue to be eligible for a dues discount of $60 each season for the next two years, in 2019 and 2020. This value represents more than the share would be worth if it were put up for sale and is in addition to the many years most certificate holders have had access to a $60 dues discount.

Moving forward, only one membership rate will be offered and the club will have only one membership type. All adult members will be eligible to volunteer for board positions and have the same opportunity to reserve their membership at the pool.

Priority registration for members from the previous season will open on February 1 and go through February 28. Open registration for new members will begin on March 1. The early bird discount will be offered from February 1 through March 31. Dues for the 2019 season have not been set.

More detail about the transition is available online at www.ForestHollow.com/FAQ2019

Thank you for your ongoing support of Forest Hollow. We look forward to seeing you on the pool deck in 2019 and for many seasons to come.

Sincerely,

Board of Directors
Forest Hollow Swim Club
