B Meet, Monday, June 17th @ Forest Hollow

We will have the first “B” meet of the season at Forest Hollow on Monday, June 17th with our neighbors, Annandale Swim and Tennis.  We had great swims at our time trials so I am looking forward to building on all of those good results.

A couple of notes:

  • This meet is at Forest Hollow.  Our pool will close (for our final “B” meet set up) at 4:00PM. Feel free to ask the coaches (or me) what needs to be done as we put set up the flags, chairs, bleachers, lane lines, clerk of course and so forth. We need your help if you are available.
  • Our Mini Gators have not started practice.  As is the tradition at our first meet, we will not be holding kick board or assisted swim events.  Only swimmers that can complete 25 meters unassisted will be allowed to swim at this meet.
  • Don’t forget “Sport Fair” will be at the meet so that you may purchase your team suit or a new pair of goggles.  Bring your checkbook!
  • Annandale will be bringing a large group of swimmers.  Let’s be gracious hosts and leave them as much parking as possible.  If you can, please walk or carpool to the meet.  Parking is NOT permitted on Old Columbia Road.  You will be towed.
  • All attending swimmers need to be at the Forest Hollow and ready to jump into the pool (caps and goggles on) by 5:00PM. Don’t forget to check the “lost goggle” drawer in the guard room (if you are missing a pair).  Yours may be in there!
  • Our order of events will be the “B” meet norm, freestyle, back stroke, breast, butterfly and then concluding the night with IM.
  • “A” Meet swimmers, remember 2 events maximum (plus IM). Young Gators, please do not try to swim an IM until you are confident that you have mastered all 4 strokes.
  •  Last check we still needed volunteers for ALL of our spots (timers, concessions and so on). This is a great opportunity for service, plus you get a front row view of all the action!  Step up, don’t be shy. https://www.foresthollow.com/volunteers/
  •  Also, be sure to support our team by having dinner at our locally renowned Gator Grill.  I hear some new items will be offered up this season!  Love those Gator Taters too!
  • You may also bring your own chairs to sit on.  Your swimmers should bring a least 2 towels and or a blanket.  Bugs might be out so bug spray is also an option.

Gators go “all out!” Lets get ready for another year in a tough division 6!

Best regards,

Bob Elkins
